WWII German Heer M43 Wool Cap
A World War 2 German M43 Cap brought back by a GI. One of the more sought-after pieces of Nazi headgear — the M43 was introduced in 1943 as a universal field cap for all branches of the German armed forces, replacing the earlier branch-specific designs.
This example is the Heer (Army) version, identifiable by its branch-specific insignia. The M43 design was practical and functional — a fold-down ear flap for cold weather, a short visor for sun protection, and a simple construction that could be produced quickly as the war demanded.
The GI bring-back provenance is well-established. M43 caps in good condition are consistently sought after by collectors of German WW2 headgear.
